What is Green Ammonia?

Green ammonia is a sustainable fuel produced using renewable energy, making it a vital part of low-carbon solutions. It is created by splitting water into hydrogen via electrolysis powered by solar or wind energy, then combining the hydrogen with nitrogen to produce ammonia. Unlike traditional ammonia, which is made with fossil fuels, green ammonia is completely carbon-free. It’s easy to store, transport, and versatile—used as a clean fuel for power generation, shipping, industrial processes, and as a sustainable fertilizer. Green ammonia helps store excess renewable energy and supports global efforts to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainability.

At the core of our strategy is the seamless integration of green ammonia and green hydrogen production into our renewable energy projects. By utilizing state-of-the-art electrolysis technology powered by renewable sources such as solar and wind, we produce these zero-carbon fuels efficiently and sustainably. Our carefully selected sites are strategically located in regions with abundant solar resources, ensuring maximum energy generation and cost-effectiveness.

Our Green Energy Solutions

We have established partnerships with leading green ammonia and hydrogen producers to secure a reliable supply chain and advanced production capabilities. Additionally, we invest in robust storage and transportation infrastructure, including specialized tanks and distribution systems, to ensure safe, efficient, and scalable deployment of these fuels. These integrated solutions enable us to support diverse industries, from power generation and transportation to industrial manufacturing, fostering a clean energy future while offering cost-effective and sustainable energy options.

Production

Green ammonia is produced through a sustainable process that uses renewable energy to combine green hydrogen with nitrogen. Historically, the Haber-Bosch process, developed over a century ago, revolutionized ammonia production by synthesizing ammonia from nitrogen and hydrogen. Today, we modernize this process by using renewable energy for green hydrogen, enabling the production of green ammonia that supports decarbonization efforts across industries, including energy, transportation, and agriculture. This eco-friendly approach offers a scalable, low-emission solution for a sustainable future

Leveraging the Potential of Green Ammonia and Green Hydrogen

Storage & Transportation

ArkLaTex Renewable Energy manufactures its own storage and distribution tanks for green hydrogen and green ammonia. Supported by our logistics team, we can efficiently transport these eco-friendly fuels to any location you require, ensuring safe and reliable delivery for your energy needs.

Fertilizer

Produced using renewable energy, green ammonia can be safely converted into eco-friendly fertilizers that nourish crops while significantly reducing carbon emissions.

Green Urea

Green urea is an eco-friendly fertilizer produced using sustainable methods that significantly reduce carbon emissions. Derived from green ammonia, which is created with renewable energy, green urea involves reacting green ammonia with captured CO2, resulting in a carbon-free product. As a vital nutrient for crops, urea is the most widely used solid nitrogen fertilizer globally, essential for increasing agricultural productivity and supporting food security.

Power Generation

Burning hydrogen or green ammonia to generate power provides a clean, efficient alternative to fossil fuels. Hydrogen produces only water vapor, while green ammonia releases nitrogen and water, making both virtually emission-free. We use Mainspring Linear generators to convert green hydrogen and ammonia into electricity. Complemented by our solar and battery storage systems, we oversize the total power capacity by 30%, supported by generators fueled with green hydrogen and ammonia. This approach enables us to deliver 99.99% reliable electricity to end users, ensuring continuous, sustainable power.

Aqua Ammonia

Aqua ammonia is a solution of ammonia in water, commonly used as a fertilizer, industrial chemical, and cleaning agent. In agriculture, it provides a readily available source of nitrogen, promoting healthy crop growth and increased yields.

At ArkLaTex Renewable Energy, we partner with Kapsom to manufacture green urea, which is derived from green ammonia. The molecular formula of ammonia is NH₃, with a molecular weight of 17. It appears as a colorless gas at room temperature, with a strong irritating odor. Green ammonia is flammable and toxic, with the maximum safe airborne concentration of 30 mg/Nm³. It can be cooled and pressurized to transform into a liquid, which boils at -33.5°C under 101.325 kPa. Liquid ammonia serves as a refrigerant and is a key raw material for producing nitric acid, fertilizers, and explosives, playing a vital role in sustainable industrial applications.
